Common methods of storing peppers include:
Refrigerate. Wash the chili thoroughly, wipe off the moisture, then put it in a sealed bag, remove the air and put it in the refrigerator. This method is suitable for short-term storage, usually 1-2 weeks.
Dry in the air. Clean the pepper and cut it into thin slices or thin strips, and place it in a dry and ventilated place to dry naturally, avoiding direct sunlight exposure. This method is suitable for long-term storage, which can be stored for several months to more than half a year, but it may affect the taste and nutritional value of pepper.
Made into paprika. After the chili is dried, it can be roasted and ground into a powder to make chili powder for easy storage and use.
Cryopreservation. Cut the cleaned peppers into the required size, put them in a fresh-keeping bag, remove the air and put them in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator. This method can be stored for 1-2 months, but the taste of chili after freezing may change.
Vacuum packaging. Put the fresh chili in a vacuum bag, use a vacuum machine to remove the air, and then put it in the refrigerator or freezer. This method can be saved for a long time, but the operation is relatively troublesome.
Pickled preservation. Cut the cleaned peppers into appropriate sizes, add salt, sugar, vinegar and other seasonings to marinate, and then put them in a sealed jar for storage. This method can also save a few months to more than half a year, but need to pay attention to the consumption of pickled food.
